Meeting with Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Chairman of “Astana EXPO-2017” National Company JSC Board

During the meeting Akhmetzhan Yessimov informed the Head of State about the concluding stage of preparation for "EXPO-2017" international exhibition.

Chairman of “Astana EXPO-2017” National Company JSC Board reported that the construction works are carried out as per schedule. First facilities, including international pavilions covering the area of ​​285,000 square meters, are being put into commission.

- The pavilions have been delivered to the representatives of France, Germany, China, Turkey and Hungary. The next task is completion of the thematic pavilion construction, Akhmetzhan Yessimov said.

The Kazakh President drew attention to the need for facilities EXPO-2017 after the event, training of volunteers, organization of cultural events, attended by the country’s regions, and a visit to the international exhibition by local tourists.

Nursultan Nazarbayev was reported on the end of Kazakhstan’s pavilion construction later in the year and the undertaken work on filling it with content of the relevant theme.

Akhmetzhan Yessimov noted that all the activities carried out within the framework of and pursuant to EXPO-2017 exhibition are underway in the operating mode. 3 thousand volunteers have been trained, and in addition about 1.5 thousand volunteers are expected to join the team.

Separately, the Head of State pointed to the need for law and order and accommodation of participants and visitors of the international exhibition.

Chairman of “Astana EXPO-2017” National Company JSC Board reported that to date 1374 apartments are ready for the participants.

The President of Kazakhstan stated that despite the complicated economic processes in the world, we have an intention for holding a significant international event.

At the end the Head of State pointed to the need for an honourable exhibition organization and the subsequent application of its achievements in Kazakhstan.

- It is essential that we take full advantage of modern empowering technology that will be shown at the exhibition by foreign participants, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
