Participation in the gala concert on the 20th anniversary of the Kazakh National University of Arts

In the multi-genre program of the jubilee concert, popular works of Kazakh and foreign composers were performed. Among them are Kener Ordas by Kenes Duisekeev, a fragment from Kyz Zhibek opera by Evgeniy Brusilovsky, Balbal by Latif Hamidi, Symphonic Dances from West Side Story musical by Leonard Bernstein and many other compositions.

The President of Kazakhstan congratulated all those present on the University’s 20th anniversary  and noted that the capital city’s high status implies the presence of a relevant weighty cultural component.

- Creative intelligentsia makes an important contribution to the capital’s cultural life. I have invited leading representatives of culture to Astana from Almaty and from all over Kazakhstan. There are many universities in the world, but the University of Arts exists only in Astana. Now we have an Opera and Ballet Theatre, Academy of Choreography, Central Concert Hall and other cultural institutions. All that is for the future of our country, for culture and art, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

The Head of State highly praised the role of leadership and faculty in the progress of the Arts University.

- This University has a school with Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate programs. About 3,000 people study there. For 20 years, more than 500 university graduates have become laureates of international competitions and reviews. I wish you success, debut of new outstanding musicians, new names that will glorify our Motherland, Republic of Kazakhstan!,Nursultan Nazarbayev concluded.
