Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbaev met with Emomali Rakhmonov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, who arrived to Astana for a two-day official visit.



During narrowed negotiations the heads of the states expressed opinions on a broad range of questions of bilateral collaboration.  

-As it is known, we have often met each other in formal and informal ways, but it is your first official visit to Astana. Relationships between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan are developing very quickly. Now, when your economy is on the rise, there is a need to give a new impulse to these relations, particularly, in the trade, transport and communications, and other areas. 


The President of the Republic of Tajikistan thanked the Kazakhstani leader for invitation to visit Kazakhstan with an official visit.       

- While arriving to here, we always admiringly observe big changes. We are glad to see the economical successes of Kazakhstan, which were accomplished under your supervision. You have the things that we, young sovereign states, especially Central Asian ones, must learn from you. The documents, which were prepared at the highest level, will be a good legal basis for deepening our bilateral relationships. The people of Tajikistan know you well and respect as a leader, who always supports integration processes, - E. Rakhmonov remarked while speaking to the Head of the State. He invited Nursultan Nazarbaev to arrive to Tajikistan with official visit.    


Questions of deepening collaboration in the trade economical, social and humanitarian areas, and also prospects of developing investment activities of Kazakhstan companies in Tajikistan were discussed during enlarged negotiations involving members of the governments and representatives of business communities of the two countries, 


- Good-neighborly relations, friendship and trust have been set up between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. Questions of deepening trade economical collaboration and mutual relationships in the framework of the EurAsEU, CIS and other regional unities play a crucial role for us now.   Today we are talking about mutual interaction of our economies, participation of Kazakhstan capital in your economy. Experienced kazakhstani companies will assist your economy to restore and to grow. Our relations always were warm and friendly. Kazakhstan always was with Tajikistan during the difficult times, Tajikistan always supported Kazakhstan in its initiatives, - the Kazakhstani leader said while opening the enlarged negotiations.     


Tajikistan President noticed the significance of the official visit to Kazakhstan for further development of collaboration in different areas.  


- We are considering the official visit to brotherly Kazakhstan to be very important. We are sure it will give a powerful impulse to the complex of developing Kazakhstan-Tajikistan relationships. We are giving top priority to the questions of economical collaboration. Kazakhstan has achieved significant success in economical development and attracting investments over the last years. And we are sincerely glad for these achievements of our friends. We think it is useful to learn your unique experience of economical development, - the President of Tajikistan said. 


E. Rakhmonov also noticed  intensifying activities of kazakhstani companies in such areas of Tajik economy as mining industry, agricultural production processing, banking and finance.   


A joint Statement of President Nursultan Nazarbaev of the Republic of Kazakhstan and President Emamoli Rakhmonov of the Republic of Tajikistan was signed at the end of the negotiations. 

Also the following intergovernmental agreements have been signed by the sides: About labor activities and protection of migrant workers’ rights; About international automobile links; About mutual protection of secret information; About collaboration and information exchange in the area of fighting against economical crimes and breaches of tax legislation. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Committee on young affaires at the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan signed an agreement on collaboration in the area of state young policy, and Ministries of Labor and Social Care of the two countries signed an agreement on mutual collaboration.
