Telegram of congratulations to Vladimir Putin on re-election as President of the Russian Federation

March 19, 2018

The Head of State on behalf of Kazakhstan’s nation and on his own behalf congratulated Vladimir Putin on his election to the post of the Russian Federation President.

The President of Kazakhstan noted that a convincing victory in the elections is evidence of the Russian nation’s high appreciation of Vladimir Putin’s huge contribution to the progress of his country and the promotion of its national interests.

"Under your effective leadership, Russia is confidently moving forward on the path of large-scale political and economic reforms, enhancing the population’s social welfare and actively participating in resolving pressing global and regional problems.

I would especially like to emphasize your personal contribution to the development of the traditionally friendly and good-neighbourly relations between our states, which serve as a vivid example of strategic partnership and alliance.

Kazakhstan aims at continuing to expand ties with Russia both in a bilateral format and as part of the Eurasian Economic Union for the benefit of our two nations.

At the same time, I appreciate and value my friendship, based on trust and mutual understanding.

I am convinced that our further joint work will keep on serving as a reliable foundation for a successful dialogue between Astana and Moscow across the whole range of our multifaceted cooperation," the telegram reads.

Nursultan Nazarbayev wished Vladimir Putin good health, prosperity and new achievements in the chair of state, and peace and prosperity for the friendly people of Russia.
