Dear Kazakhstanis!

I would like to congratulate you all on our country’s successful organization and run of the OSCE Summit. It ended this night with adoption of Astana declaration.

The summit results are of strategic importance to the country.

Firstly, we have strengthened the foreign political foundations of our independence. The summit became a new stage in strengthening of confidence, cooperation and integration, creation of the community of a single and indivisible Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian security.

Secondly, the summit was the peak of our chairmanship in OSCE. We have fully implemented our action program in it, all the tasks we set in the start.

Kazakhstan managed to give an impetus to this Organization in the new millennium. Discussions were resumed on the entire block of security problems in Eurasia.

We have offered our program for OSCE reforming, pooling its efforts with other structures of security in Europe.

Thirdly, we have proved that we can hold large-scale international events. All the state, government and official delegation leaders stressed the importance of our initiative in convening this summit.at the summit sessions and during the talks with me the

They all thanked Kazakhstan for an excellent preparation for the Summit. This gratitude is addressed to all our country’s people.

Fourthly, our society has shown maturity, unity and consolidation. Preparation for the OSCE Summit became an all-nation’s task; many people were involved in it. And we have accomplished it.
All the technical services of Astana – starting from air navigation to utilities were working in cohesion, and under severe weather conditions. I thank the state bodies and volunteers, working with our guests.
I want to thank all residents of Astana for hospitality and understanding. My special gratitude is to the capital’s administration and Mayor of Astana Imangali Tasmagambetov for a very good organization.
Fifthly, Astana has taken the place among such famous cities of Europe that had hosted the OSCE summits as Helsinki, Paris, Budapest, Lisbon, and Istanbul.

The whole world has seen Kazakhstan in a different light. The summit is a triumph of Kazakhstan people and a token of their unity and focus on the future.
