During the meeting Nurtore Zhusip (Aikyn Newspaper), Bigeldy Gabdullin (Central Asia Monitor Newspaper), Artur Platonov (the Commercial Television Channel (KTK), Yuliya Sinchuk from Khabar Agency, JSC, Nurlan Yerimbetov from Astana Television Channel and Lyazzat Tanysbay from the Kazakhstan Television and Radio Corporation, JSC posed a number of topical questions to the President.
The President told about the results of the state visit to the People’s Republic of China.
“I highly assess the results of the state visit to China. The atmosphere of the negotiations held and their content fully reflect the good-neighborly and trusty partnership of Kazakhstan and China. For the last 19 years of independence I paid a visit to China 15 times,” the President highlighted.
Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized that successful development of bilateral relations are based on the solid economic groundwork. China is a Kazakhstan’s major economic partner and a leading investor. Last year the volume of bilateral trade exceeded US$ 20 billion. China has become a major export market for Kazakhstan and ranked 2nd place among countries who imported to Kazakhstan. Large energy projects are being successfully realized. Agreements on construction of the Astana-Almaty High-Speed Railway Line have been achieved. Kazakhstan continued to realize the Western Europe – Western China international transit corridor and Zhetygen-Khorgos railway. An Intergovernmental Agreement on Protection of Trans-Border Rivers has been signed. Our agreements on establishment of the Chinese-Kazakh Supercomputer Center in Astana, opening of Kazakh-Chinese University for studying innovations are very prospective.
