S. Akhmetov informed the President of the region's socio-economic development this year.
For 8 months of 2011 the region's industrial output exceeded KZT 870 billion. Karaganda region leads among other regions of the country on implementing of projects under the accelerated industrial innovative development of economy. On the whole, there are 45 projects totaling KZT 282.2 billion. Nine projects worth KZT 4 billion with 507 jobs have been launched since the beginning of the year. 15 more investment projects totaling KZT 42 billion with 1350 jobs will be carried out till the end of the year. The region also ranks first among all other regions of Kazakhstan on implementation of "Business Road Map-2020". 87 projects worth KZT 14 billion were approved under this program. They allowed to preserve 10,000 jobs and create more than 2,000 new jobs. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence the region conducts the large-scale work on preparing the infrastructure of settlements, their landscaping, and gardening. It is planned to launch a number of new facilities - tennis center, ice arena, boxing center, 4,000-seat cathedral mosque, outpatient clinic, history and culture center in Temirtau, monuments to Kazybek Bi, Kanysh Satpayev in Karaganda.
Following the akim's report the President gave a number of instructions on further socio-economic development of the region.
