Participation of Gulshara Abdykalikova, Kazakhstan’s Secretary of State, in the solemn meeting of the republican public association "Organization of Veterans" on its 30th anniversary

The organization of veterans was formed on March 21, 1987. The union has 1 million 845 thousand veterans of war and labor in its ranks. The Organization prides are 17 holders of “Halyk Kаhарmany”, “Kazakhstannyn Enbek Eri”, 2 Heroes of the Soviet Union and 115 Heroes of Socialist Labor.

B. Izmukhambetov, Chairman of the Central Council of Veterans, veterans of war and labor from all regions of the country, the Parliament Majilis deputies, representatives of state authorities, the general public, and the mass media took part in the solemn meeting.

Gulshara Abdykalikova, in her welcoming speech, stressed that caring for veterans and improving their quality of life is one of the main priorities of the state's social policy.

She noted that on July 1, 2017, the President would raise pensions by 20% to the level of 2016. In addition, the appointment of the basic pension will be exercised by way of a new methodology; its size will depend on the length of participation in the pension system. These measures will allow scaling up the primary pension size by 1.8 times by 2018 as compared to 2017.

The State Secretary emphasized the contribution of the Republican Union to the formation and development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the end of her speech, the Secretary of State expressed her confidence that the veterans would take an active part in actualization of the tasks set by the President in Program Article "Looking to the Future: Public Consciousness Improvement."

During the solemn meeting veterans thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for constant care and attention. They expressed unanimous support for the visionary and measured policy of the Head of State, thanks to which peace, unity and harmony prevail in Kazakhstan.
