In the course of the bilateral meeting, topical issues of Kazakhstan's cooperation with the World Bank were discussed. To date, 46 projects have been implemented for a total of $ 8.1 billion with the Bank's participation.
Gulshara Abdykalikova stressed that this year Kazakhstan's cooperation with the World Bank is 25 years old. For a quarter-century activity in the country, the Bank has made a contribution to the development of the private sector, structural reforms and infrastructure improvement.
The Secretary noted that Kazakhstan had set itself the goal of entering the 30 developed countries by 2050. In accordance with Nazarbayev Nazarbayev’s Address to the Nation "Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness" defined the task of creating a new model of economic growth.
Gulshara Abdykalikova stressed that in the World Bank's "Ease of Doing Business" rating, in 2017 Kazakhstan rose from 51st to 35th place among 190 countries. "Over the years of independence, the gross inflow of foreign direct investment into the country amounted to about 280 billion dollars," the State Secretary said.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the current dynamics of bilateral cooperation.
At the end of the meeting Gulshara Abdykalikova wished Ato Brown wellbeing and success in ensuring sustainable economic growth of the participating countries.
