The State Secretary in her opening speech noted that Nursultan Nazarbayev in the Address titled "New Opportunities for Development under the Fourth Industrial Revolution" defined the 7th task "Human Capital as Basis for Modernization" as one of the most important priorities. It has one of the main goals, i.e. to accelerate creation of its own advanced education system, encompassing citizens of all ages.
Gulshara Abdykalikova stressed that the educational development is one of the main priorities of the national state policy. A national model of education has been created, and good results have been achieved. Kazakhstan is the first in Central Asia to become a member of the Bologna Process and a full member of the European Higher Education Area. Our country is among the top eight countries of the world in the UNESCO Educational Development Index.
The State Secretary emphasized the pride of the national education system - 20 Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, Nazarbayev University, the flagship of higher education, and Bolashak, a successfully implemented presidential program.
- The exhibition is being held in the year of a remarkable anniversary - the 25th anniversary of Bolashak Presidential Scholarship. During these years, more than 12,800 scholarships have been awarded. More than 10 thousand specialists have been trained. Today, more than 1 thousand grant-aided students are getting educated, most of whom receive knowledge in the US best universities, Gulshara Abdikalikova said.

Over 30 Kazakhstani and about 70 foreign universities and educational agencies from 21 countries take part in the exhibition. Among the participants are the top world universities: Columbia University, University of Warwick, University of Sciences Po and others.
The exhibition’s main goal is demonstration of new educational technologies, as well as expansion of interstate and interuniversity cooperation in the field of education and science.
Following the results of International Education Fair 2018, 5 memorandums have been inked on expanding cooperation in developing educational programs and exchange of students.
