The event organizer is the Center for Islamic Studies named after King Faisal. Established in 1983 to study the place and role of Islam in world history, and promote Islamic values, Muslim culture and art, it is one of the country’s leading scientific and cultural and educational centers.
Arystanbek Muhameduli, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Culture and Sports, Prince Turki bin Faisal Al Saud, adviser to the King of Saudi Arabia, chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, the Faisal Center’s representative delegation, officers of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Kazakhstan, representatives of the public and the media have taken part in the official opening ceremony.
The State Secretary of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova and Prince Turki bin Faisal Al Saud have made a welcoming speech.
The speakers noted that in the CIS such an exhibition was organized for the first time. The exposition is devoted to the historical past of Saudi Arabia during the reign of King Faisal (1964-1975), which marked the beginning of large-scale reforms in the life of Saudi society.
The exhibition shows rare historical exhibits and personal belongings of King Faisal: cold steel, awards, archival documents, photographs and other things.
There was a presentation of "Al-Faisal - Witness and Martyr" book, published in Kazakh and Russian.
