During the meeting, the State Secretary Gulshara Abdykalikova focused on the key areas of domestic policy.
- On the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, a system upgrade is currently underway, which covers the economy, politics and public consciousness. The Address of the Head of the State referred to as New Development Opportunities in the Fourth Industrial Revolution aimed at becoming a leader of the new world is being implemented. Five Social Initiatives of the President is being carried out, aimed at building a socially responsible state, the Secretary of State said.
Gulshara Abdykalikova has stressed that thanks to a trustful and constructive political dialogue at the highest level, bilateral relations have strengthened in the widest range of areas, and cooperation has acquired a strategic status.
- Turkmenistan for Kazakhstan is not just a good neighbour and a reliable partner in Central Asia, but a fraternal state. A cultural community, genuine friendship and interaction connect our countries. We actively cooperate on various multilateral platforms (UN, CIS, OIC, etc.). Inter-parliamentary and interdepartmental relations are being strengthened. Interregional contacts are expanding. The work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation has been established. The International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) remains an important platform for regional cooperation, the Secretary of State said.
During the meeting, Gulshara Abdikalikova stressed that the trade turnover between the two states in 2017 amounted to $ 99.3 million, and noted that Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan possess significant hydrocarbon resources and have a huge transit and transport potential.
At the end of the meeting, the State Secretary of Kazakhstan, Gulshara Abdykalikova, wished Toily Komekov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan, great successes in the further development of cooperation in the spirit of good-neighbourliness and strategic partnership.
