Gulshara Abdykalikova noted the importance of the International Labour Organisation as an authoritative international institution in the UN system for the regulation of labour relations. The Secretary of State stressed that Kazakhstan attaches great significance to cooperation with the ILO and is involved in its main activities on an annual basis. Gulshara Abdykalikova also highlighted the importance of the upcoming 104th session of the International Labour Conference to be held in June this year.
In addition, the sides discussed further prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and International Labour Organisation in the field of labour-management relations.
The Secretary of State said the five institutional reforms put forward by President Nursultan Nazarbayev are aimed at qualitative improvement and raising efficiency of state institutions, public services, as well as economic programmes and large-scale infrastructure projects.
Gulshara Abdykalikova noted the “Nurly Zhol” new economic policy plays a special role in ensuring sustainable growth, preservation of existing jobs and creating new ones in the face of deteriorating economic conditions in foreign markets. Implementation of these tasks will stir up the economy, increase mobility and contribute to solving the problems of entrepreneurship, ensuring employment.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues related to the adoption of the National Action Plan on Youth Employment in Kazakhstan, as well as technical support of the ILO for the preparation of National Review of labour protection and labour force mobility.
