During the meeting, the Head of the State heard the Report on fulfillment of tasks assigned to of Information and Communications Ministry.
Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed the importance of conducting high-quality information work on several areas of state policy.
- It is necessary, first of all, to strengthen the coverage of the industrial and innovative development program actualization. Secondly, coverage of activities on implementing “Nurly Zhol” infrastructure development program. For example, one might bring up to speed on the positive interacting aspects between “Nurly Zhol” program and China's New Silk Road Strategy. Within the framework of infrastructure development, 1600 km were built during the first year, and 900 km of roads last year. I've talked about that a few times. But in the media this fact was kept off the radar, the President of Kazakhstan said.
The Head of State also noted the need for covering in media the infrastructure projects implemented in the country’s regions, placing emphasis on timeliness of informational coverage of Kazakhstan’s transit and transport potential.
In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev took note of the need for large-scale informational support for actualizing the key provisions of "Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness" Address and the Nation’s Plan titled "100 Specific Steps".
Minister of Information and Communications reported to the President of Kazakhstan on implementing "100 New Faces of Kazakhstan" project and carrying out information and explanatory work on all areas of public consciousness improvement.
Following the meeting, the Head of State has given a number of specific instructions.
