President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev heard information on the work done to create an Open Skies regime over Kazakhstan. 14 new air routes are expected to be opened in 2020 by well-known airlines from Qatar, Poland, Oman, Belarus, Malaysia, Romania, the UAE, and Kuwait. In addition, negotiations are underway with the aviation authorities of Switzerland, South Korea, Singapore, Latvia, and Lithuania.
Roman Sklyar said that in accordance with the President Tokayev’s instructions, 12 new air routes were opened in 2019, including from Nur-Sultan to Prague, Ulaanbaatar, and Tokyo.
The Head of State instructed to continue active work on expanding air links between Kazakhstan and concerned states, as well as on increasing cargo transportation through the main airports of Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also noted the importance of increasing competition in the aviation sector, which will favorably affect the quality of passenger service and the development of civil aviation in general.
