Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the Russian Ambassador Mikhail Bocharnikov in connection with the completion of his diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan.
The Head of State focused on M.Bocharnikov’s contribution to the strengthening of Kazakh-Russian relations and expressed gratitude for his diplomatic activities in Kazakhstan.
- You have worked as Russia’s Ambassador in Kazakhstan for 11 years. Relations between Kazakhstan and Russia have strengthened over the years. We celebrated the 25th anniversary of establishing our diplomatic ties. Interregional cooperation is developing, visits and summit meetings have become intense. Our partnership is an example of interstate relations, the President of Kazakhstan said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the productive cooperation of the two countries in the international arena.
- We support each other at the international level. During my visit to the United States, I put emphasis on the issue of Russian-American relations, the Head of State said.
In turn, M.Bocharnikov pointed to the high rates of development of bilateral relations and emphasized Kazakhstan's active participation in strengthening global security.
- More than 11 years of work in Kazakhstan have left feelings of gratitude to your country. The entry of Kazakhstan into the UN Security Council and its chairmanship in this institution shows your country’s importance in ensuring international peace and security, the Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan said.
In addition, M.Bocharnikov noted the results and further prospects of cooperation between the two countries as part of the Eurasian Economic Union.
At the end of the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan awarded M.Bocharnikov with Dostyk Order.
