During the meeting, the President was presented with reports on the judicial reform implementation as part of "100 Specific Steps" Nation's Plan and the courts’ activity in administering justice.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the presence of a large volume of forthcoming work, both in the judicial system and in the entire law enforcement sphere.
- Full rule of law will be ensured when citizens believe and apply to the courts for help, get fair decisions and their rights are fully protected. Now it's too early to talk about this, the President of Kazakhstan said.
The Head of the State has drawn focus toward the weak development of trial attorneys, laying emphasis on the lack of adversarial system in the judicial process.
- All measures aimed at the system development should be carried out in an integrated manner. The local police attract a great deal of criticism. The number of business checks and tax audits does not grow downwards. It is necessary to organize work in this sphere, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
K.Mami reported to the Head of State about the positive effect on the country’s judicial system reforms carried out in the law enforcement sphere.
- Courts of the country are working in a stable regime. More than 512 thousand criminal, civil and administrative cases have been filed with the courts during the recent 5 months of this year. More than 417,000 of these cases have been considered in the assigned procedural terms, the Chief Justice said.
In addition, K.Mami informed the President of Kazakhstan about the increase in the number of citizens' appeals to the courts, as well as the results of introducing the electronic judicial system.
Following the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev gave a number of specific instructions.
