Kassym-Jomart Tokayev heard a report on the results of the Ministry’s activities for 9 months of 2020.
The Justice Minister informed President Tokayev about the ongoing work to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of supporting a number of draft laws, ensuring its legal examination and passing in Parliament.
The President was told about the work to clarify legal issues related to the state of emergency that was in effect from March to May early this year. In this context, the uninterrupted activity of lawyers and legal consultants was ensured, and the work of bailiffs was suspended. After the state of emergency was over, the work of all bailiffs was aimed at protecting the rights of citizens, in particular, to collect alimony and ensure payment of wages.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of State gave the Minister a number of instructions, including those related to protecting the rights of citizens, improving the quality of standard-setting activities, and coordinating the work of state bodies in preparing new laws and other regulatory acts.
