President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar who is in Kazakhstan for a state visit.
In the course of the meeting the two leaders discussed the main areas of bilateral cooperation, in particular in the investment sphere, trade and economy.
Nursultan Nazarbayev and Tamim Al Thani stressed broad prospects for boosting the pace of cooperation between the two countries through the implementation of joint projects.
Following the meeting, a set of documents on bilateral cooperation was signed. Among them are the Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and of the Protocol to It between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the State of Qatar, the Agreement on Cooperation between the National Mining Company “Tau-Ken Samruk” JSC and the Qatar Mining Company QSC and the Memorandum on Mutual Understanding between ”Samruk-Kazyna” National Welfare Fund” JSC and the Qatar Investment Fund.
