During the meeting, Kairat Kozhamzharov informed Nursultan Nazarbayev of the Agency’s current activity along with measures taken to increase efficiency and professional qualities of civil servants.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the Agency, which was established last year, is facing important challenges in terms of improving civil service and ensuring counteraction against corruption offenses.
The President emphasized the importance of further improving the effectiveness of government agencies in ensuring sustainable growth and stability of the country.
Kairat Kozhamzharov informed the President about the outcome of monitoring and evaluation of the first phase of reforms envisioned in the Concept of a new public service model.
Based on the results of research, specific measures were defined to increase the transparency of recruitment into public service, introduce assessment of civil servants and develop their training system and motivation.
Kairat Kozhamzharov also told about a new sphere of the Agency’s activity involving introduction of principles and mechanisms of personnel management at all stages of civil service, as well as anti-corruption education, within which the Agency in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science will study the challenges in combating corruption at all levels of education.
Following the meeting, the President gave a number of specific instructions.
