Speaking to the media representatives, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the good and stable relations that have developed between Kazakhstan and Georgia.
- This meeting is welcome. The visit of the President of Georgia is connected with EXPO-2017 opening, as part of which the opening of the Georgian pavilion will take place. Today's relations between Kazakhstan and Georgia remain stable. We have never interrupted our historically harmonious and good collaboration, the Head of State said.
The President of Kazakhstan said that in the course of negotiations a wide range of issues and possibilities of building effective cooperation within “One Belt, One Road” Initiative was consideration to.
- Now there is an opportunity to make Georgia, like Kazakhstan, a transit state and provide access to Europe via the Black Sea. In addition, there are transport corridors of gas and oil, which also pass through Georgia. In this regard, we talked about the possibilities of the Batumi oil terminal and the port belonging to Kazakhstan’s companies, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
The Head of the State noted that this path would be beneficial for all interested countries and would increase Kazakhstan’s transit potential. The President of Kazakhstan has also stressed the need for mutually beneficial trade cooperation and expressed his intention to continue relations in this direction.
In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev spoke about the Agreements reached in the humanitarian and educational spheres.
- Our cultural and humanitarian relations have always been to a high standard. It is essential that we continue them. We spoke about the possibility of exchanging students between our universities so that young people continue their traditions and develop our relations. I believe that the visit of the President of Georgia to Kazakhstan will give impetus to the interaction of our governments to address important issues of bilateral relations, the President of Kazakhstan said.
