During the working trip, the Head of State familiarized himself with the implementation of the further cooperation concept at Baikonur Complex between Kazakhstan and Russia, as well as work on “Baiterek” joint project.
- As part of our agreements with the Russian side, the strategic directions for the complex’ development have been identified. The activities are coordinated by the specially established intergovernmental commission and the governments of the two sides; specific steps are being taken, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
At the same time, the President of Kazakhstan focused on the importance to improve the region’s environmental safety.
In addition, the Head of State was informed about the prospects for Baikonur town’s growth and measures to create conditions for raising the population’s well-being.
- The town has a great prospect. The necessary infrastructure is being developed, gasification will be ensured, and housing complexes and social facilities will be built. It is also necessary to create joint ventures to ensure the employment of the local population, Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed.
