During the meeting, the Head of the State thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs for participating in the work of the SCO Summit and opening the international exhibition EXPO-2017.
The Head of the State noted that he was pleased with the news about the recent elections in Iran, during which the current President Hassan Rouhani won.
- I am deeply concerned about the contradictions taking place in the Islamic world and I hope for the soonest establishment of mutual understanding and trust, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
In his turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and attention shown.
-Relations between our countries are at a high level and are developing steadily, especially after mutual visits by both you and the President of Iran, Mohammad Zarif said.
Also Mohammad Zarif congratulated Kazakhstan on its election as the UN Security Council non-permanent member.
