Darkhan Kaletaev, Minister for Religious Affairs and Civil Society, Arystanbek Muhamediuly, Minister of Culture and Sports, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, akim of South Kazakhstan region, representatives of akimats of Almaty city, Almaty, Zhambyl and Kyzylorda regions, leaders of youth organizations , experts in the field of youth policy and others have attended the regular meeting.
Opening the meeting, Abdikalikova stressed that Nursultan Nazarbayev in his greetings to the Fourth Congress of Zhas Otan Youth Branch urged young people to comprehensive development: going in for sports, art, learning foreign languages, studying the rich heritage of Russian and world literature, and most importantly - striving to become excellent professionals.
The Secretary noted that today the country is implementing the Third Modernization, Five Presidential Social Initiatives and the elements of Industry 4.0 are being actualized.
- For us the main thing is to arouse the youth's interest in history, national culture and traditions. To do that, it is critical to work out youth projects jointly with NGOs, to open centres for studying and supporting traditional values, the State Secretary said.
The Council meeting was held in the format of Open Talks. The meeting heard the reports of ministers, akim of South Kazakhstan, heads of youth associations on forming value orientations of modern Kazakhstan’s youth and organization of cultural and leisure activities.
There were meetings of the Council members with student, working youth, young entrepreneurs and sportsmen of South Kazakhstan region. Today, more than 700,000 young people live in the region or 18% of all young people in the country.
Within the framework of Ruhani Zhangyru Program, the Ministry for Religious Affairs and Civil Society is implementing Atameken subprogram. In 2017, 1,197 projects were completed; and 1558 projects are scheduled for 2018.
According to the sociological survey, 97% of respondents are proud of their civic affiliation to Kazakhstan, and 92.3% consider themselves to be patriots.
Currently, the regions implement the 2017-2020 Action Plans aimed at organizing leisure activities for young people. For example, there is a Youth Service Centre in Almaty region, which is aimed at implementing the state youth policy, and in East Kazakhstan region, all sports clubs and sections of public institutions are free to attend by children under 18 years old, and a 50% discount for students.
Following the meeting, the State Secretary of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova gave a number of instructions on the formation of values for young people and organization of leisure time.
