Kazakhstan's President addressed the festival participants with the welcoming speech, noting the particular contribution of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan to the nation’s development and prosperity.
- In the intervening years, the Assembly has truly brought together people of different ethnic groups and religions, and has revealed the best that is in each culture and traditions. Peace and harmony is the main treasure of all 25 years of Independence, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
The Head of the State stressed that in the modern world the state support for ethnocultural associations is a unique practice.
- Here in Kazakhstan it is a reality. The government constantly and widely supports all ethno-cultural associations; it funds schools, where children are taught their mother tongue. Our newspapers and magazines are in fifteen, and theaters are in seven languages, the President of Kazakhstan said.
During the event, Nursultan Nazarbayev awarded the academic status to the Korean, German and the Uighur National Theaters.
In conclusion, the Head of the State congratulated the festival members on the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence and wished everyone well-being and prosperity.
