During the ceremony, the announcement of exit poll results was made in a news briefing stating Nursultan Nazarbayev won a clear majority of the national vote.
Addressing the attendees, Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed his gratitude to all the people of Kazakhstan.
“I am grateful to every citizen, every family for the trust given to me during the development of the country’s independence, including the support in this election as well. The idea of holding early presidential election belonged to the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. This decision was supported by Kazakhstanis. I want to thank Nur Otan party for nominating me. I am also grateful to the National public headquarters. Its representatives have traveled all over the country, met with people to explain the national policies. I express my gratitude to all my agents and activists,” he said.
The President stressed that the citizens of the country once again supported the ongoing work.
“Without such public confidence, it would have been hard to accomplish all the goals we set. The record high turnout in the election demonstrates the unity of Kazakhstani people, their desire to live in a stable country and their support to programmes that I offered. All this behooves working with renewed vigor for the future and prosperity of our country,” he maintained.
The Head of State also drew attention to the historical significance of this election, during which the citizens of Kazakhstan demonstrated their unity.
“The elections were held in compliance with the law. A lot of foreign observers and journalists came to our country to observe. Kazakhstan demonstrated to the international community its high political culture and democracy, thereby raising its standing before the whole world to another level,” he said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted there were all the prerequisites for our country to successfully achieve its ambitious goals.
“We have qualified personnel, sufficient financial resources, political stability, unity and friendship of the people. We will carry out the tasks set in the industrialisation programme Nurly Zhol, we will make sure Kazakhstan joins the 30 most developed countries of the world, improving the life of the people,” he sado.
In conclusion, the President wished all Kazakhstanis well-being, success, and prosperity.

During the election, the Institute of Democracy conducted the nationwide exit poll, which took place in 14 regions, as well as the cities of Almaty and Astana. The surveying was carried out by more than 1,500 people between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. at 550 polling stations, including 312 stations in cities and 238 stations in rural areas.
According to exit polls, the results of voting on the presidential election were as follows: Nursultan Nazarbayev gained 97.5% of the vote, 1.87% of voters chose Turgun Syzdykov and 0.63% voted for Abelgazi Kussainov.
