Members and veterans of the Assembly from all regions of the country, chairmen of ethno-cultural associations, deputies of the Parliament, members of the Government and heads of central and local executive bodies, political parties, religious associations, NGOs, representatives of the creative and academic intelligentsia, heads of the media attended the event.
Opening the session, the Head of State stressed the role of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan as the main guarantor of peace and stability in the country.
- Today, the Assembly has to fulfil a number of tasks on the way of Kazakhstan's modernization. In March of this year, within the framework of social modernization, I have proposed ‘Five Presidential Initiatives’. Their successful actualization will strengthen the faith of our citizens in the future, the state, society and each other, the President of Kazakhstan said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the policy of social unity is an important step towards formation of a consolidated nation.
- We have started five new projects, despite the external circumstances. Not because we have too much money and resources. We are determined to give a new impetus to improving the lives of Kazakhstanis, the Head of State.
During the speech, the President of Kazakhstan dwelled on three fundamental factors in implementing "Five Social Initiatives" and named the main features of the state's social policy.
Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the need to further strengthen the unity of Kazakhstan's society.
- XXI century shows that global challenges and threats - social, ecological, technogenic - do not disappear anywhere. There comes a different time, when everyone takes responsibility for the future, the Head of State said.
In addition, the President of Kazakhstan named three principles for the implementation of social projects in our country.
Nursultan Nazarbayev pointed out that Five Initiatives are aimed at solving five of the most important social problems in modern Kazakhstan.
The Head of State noted that the funds for actualizing social initiatives are direct investments in the future of Kazakhstan's society, and set a number of new tasks for the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
In conclusion, Nursultan Nazarbayev called the nation’s unity the main condition for creating a renovated Kazakhstan and congratulated all citizens of the country on the upcoming holiday - the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan.
During the session, new deputies of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan were appointed: Vitaly Tvarionas and Islambek Salzhanov.
At the end of the session, the Appeal was also adopted, in which the Assembly called upon the people of Kazakhstan to jointly create a new model of the social state and national well-being.
