During the visit, the Head of State was briefed on the current activities of Aktau’s sea port, prospects for increasing the volume of cargo transportation in the Caspian Sea, as well as the development of Aktau’s resort area infrastructure.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev became familiar with the port’s technical capabilities, which allow it to fully carry out production tasks, including cargo operations, parking and maintenance of vessels.
Deputy Prime Minister Jenis Kassymbek reported that the location of Aktau’s international sea port at the intersection of global transport corridors allows transportation of dry goods, crude oil and petroleum products with a total turnover of 17.7 million tons per year.
In addition, the President of Kazakhstan examined Mangystau rocket-artillery ship, and also familiarized himself with samples of military equipment, weapons and equipment of the Naval Forces of Kazakhstan’s Defense Ministry.
