The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev together with Presidents of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov, the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev examined the digitalization exhibition timed to the opening of Astana International Financial Centre.
The Head of State noted that one of the most important areas of AIFC activity lies in creating the effective environment for the development of innovative financial technologies.
- AIFC participants will have access to the capital not only of Kazakhstan and the region, but the whole world. Unprecedented conditions have been created here that have no analogues in the post-Soviet area. Yesterday we launched the work of AIFC Exchange, which has a modern high-tech infrastructure. The American NASDAQ Exchange and the Shanghai Stock Exchange are already participating in its activities, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
There was a presentation a number of projects aimed at creating a favourable ecosystem for the development and promotion of innovative financial technologies in Kazakhstan. In particular, e-Justice (AIFC digital financial system), digital crypto-exchange, a depository for crypto-currency, a financial supermarket, a cyber-security centre, Islamic financial technologies, an international start-up program and other projects.
Director of AIFC Kairat Kelimbetov told the heads of Central Asian states about the main principles of the Centre’s activities and opportunities that open up to the financial systems of the region, and invited entrepreneurs from countries along the historic Silk Road to take an active part in the work of the Centre.
The presentation has also been attended by Lord Harry Kenneth Woolf, President of the AIFC Court and Yernur Rysmagambetov, Managing Director, Curator of the AIFC Continuing Professional Development Bureau.
