In the context of the visit Nursultan Nazarbayev inspected the sports venue and familiarized with the formal clothes and emblems of the Winter Student Games.
The President also spoke with representatives of the International University Sports Federation and expressed his hope for Kazakhstan’s successful holding the World Winter Student Games 2017 under direct support. Federation representatives, in turn, thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for his contribution to the efficient conduct of all activities in the forthcoming Universiade.
President of Kazakhstan was also informed of the post-Universiade operation of facilities that will function as training centers, physical culture schools, professional and amateur teams.
Besides, the President visited the Multimedia Center of Traditional Music with the unique musical instruments of the Kazakh art eminent persons from the collections of the Ihlas Museum of Folk Musical Instruments, the Kasteev State Museum, History Museum of Almaty city and the national archives. Nursultan Nazarbayev presented his dombra to the Center and Steppe Melodies sculpture, dedicated to the legendary singer of the Kazakh kyuis Dina Nurpeisova.

Athletic Village with a capacity of 5000 seats is intended for accommodation of athletes and members of delegations. The total area of the residential complex meant for 1 748 apartments is 125 thousand square meters.
The main administration building includes the area of accreditation, sports information, key information and multimedia centers, as well as a room for volunteers and a cafeteria.
