The Head of the Nation came to see the Expo Town for 1300 apartments, the building of «MEGA Silk Way» trade and entertainment center, EXPO headquarters and "Energy Research Centre”.
The President of Kazakhstan visited the International Pavilion, which is for expositions of Algeria, Qatar, China, Malaysia and India.
At the end of the visit Nursultan Nazarbayev had a meeting to hear the report of "National Company" Astana EXPO-2017" JSC Board Chairman on the preparation process for the international exhibition.
- 112 countries have confirmed their participation, of which 104 have already appointed their commissioners. 94 have inked the agreements, and 75 countries have booked the date of the national day, Akhmetzhan Yesimov said.
During the meeting the Head of the State was presented solutions over the energy sector among the top 24 active projects, selected by a special international committee. As it was stated, the projects will have representations on at a special exhibition hall.
- We have done tremendous work for two years. It is critical to equip these facilities, and to train appropriate personnel. That is the main task, and we will keep it under control, the President of Kazakhstan said.
Following the results of the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed the Prime Minister jointly with "National Company "Astana EXPO-2017" JSC and Akimat of Astana to address the issue of further use of the international specialized exhibition facilities following its close.
