During the meeting, issues of water resources development and provision of drinking water to rural residents were discussed.
The Head of the State stressed the importance of implementing projects that would ensure safety of Astana and other regions from high waters and underflooding.
- A large amount of water creates risks of flooding. On the other hand, this water can be used for good purposes, for example, in agriculture. In this regard, it is necessary to ensure creation of small reservoirs in each locality, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
President of Kazakhstan was provided with information on the current state of dams and the prospects for construction of new reservoirs in regions prone to floods.
The Head of the State also stressed the need to develop the tourist potential of reservoirs and lakes near Astana.
- Kenbidayk reservoir is located near the city. It should become one of the recreation places for the capital city’s residents. It is necessary to equip the beaches and build recreation areas, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
At the end of the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan has given a number of specific instructions.
