As part of the working visit to Karaganda region President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited a number of facilities of the "Saryarka" special economic zone.
Acquaintance with the industrial potential of the region began with “Böhmer Armature” LLP (Бёмер Арматура). The company has no parallels in the entire Central Asian region, and it manufactures ball valves based on German technologies. Products of this brand are in demand in the oil and gas sector, as well as housing and communal services.
Then the Head of State visited the first plant in Kazakhstan for the disposal of old vehicles “Recycling Company” LLP. The President was particularly interested in the work of the smelter and shredder plant, which allows processing up to 50,000 cars per year. A comprehensive approach to the collection and recycling machines allows upgrading the car park of the country, and improving the ecological situation.
While visiting the “Alfarukh” wholesale and distribution center, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev inspected the cross-dock, climate warehouse, and wholesale-retail center. The President noted the importance of expanding the transit and logistics capabilities of the facility and the need to use the Karaganda experience in other regions.
There was also a presentation on the progress of housing construction in Karaganda city. The models presented new architectural solutions that would change the appearance of the regional center in the near future. Akim of Karaganda region Erlan Koshanov reported on the construction of housing, social and sports facilities that will form a new center of Karaganda.
