Nursultan Nazarbayev got acquainted with the work of the sports centre destined to popularize tennis in the region.
During the visit, the President met with the leading athletes of South Kazakhstan region, among whom were prizewinners and medalists of various international competitions.
The Head of State wished everyone success and more victories in sports.
The sportsmen, in turn, thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for the continuous support and attention to the issues related to physical culture and sports development.

The National Tennis Centre in Shymkent was built by the Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan under the instruction of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. More than 300 children regularly attend tennis classes held in the Centre, which has 12 open and 4 indoor tennis courts. Since its opening, the Centre has hosted 14 international tournaments.
