As part of his working trip to South Kazakhstan region, Nursultan Nazarbayev visited the country’s largest greenhouse complex for growing vegetables.

The President spoke to entrepreneurs and agricultural producers, highlighting the dynamics of social and economic development of the region.

“Today all necessary conditions for agriculture have been created in South Kazakhstan region. The state provides comprehensive support for the development of agricultural sector and allocates appropriate funds. Over the last five years, nearly 2.3 million tons of vegetables have been produced in the region. There is no other place in Kazakhstan with similar high figures and rich natural environment. Today we are opening our borders with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. In this regard, we need to deliver products into both domestic and foreign markets,” he said.

The Head of State stressed the necessity to further develop transport infrastructure.

“In case there are no good roads in the country, trade and economy will remain poorly developed as well. That is why we are building transport networks in all regions of the country, thereby creating thousands of jobs. Each region has some specific tasks to accomplish, we should continue working to implement them,” he said.
