As part of the trip, the Secretary of State, at the invitation T.Narbaeva, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Chairperson of the Women's Committee, took part in the business forum of women of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The event was also attended by members of the Presidential National Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy, MPs, representatives of state bodies, Atameken NGO, NGOs and the women's business community.
In her greeting, Gulshara Abdykalikova stressed that the President of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev, pays special attention to the development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

G.Abdykalikova noted that Kazakhstan implements the governmental policy to expand women's economic opportunities.
- One of the key directions of building a democratic society is to achieve gender balance. During the years of independence, tangible results have been achieved. We have made steady progress in advancing women in politics. 29 women are represented in the Majilis, which is more than 27% of the total number of deputies. A dynamic sector of women's entrepreneurship has been formed In the economic sphere. 44% of SMEs are headed by women, who provide one-third of all jobs in this segment, the Secretary of State said.
The Presidential National Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy and the Women's Committee of Uzbekistan have inked the Memo on cooperation at the forum; innovative business projects of women entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were shown, and a constructive exchange of best practices has taken place.
