Addressing the journalists, Nursultan Nazarbayev said at this stage of development of bilateral relations, the United Kingdom has already invested $12 billion in Kazakhstan and there are more than 500 joint ventures between the companies of the two countries.
He also said that the business authorities accompanying him to the visit have signed agreements and memoranda amounting to $5 billion and that the agreements went beyond the commodities sector.
In addition, the President of Kazakhstan underscored the serious content of the agreements signed during the visit, noting that they are aimed at the future development of the economy. He also stressed joint projects in the gas, power, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized an agreement concluded with the British side on the opening of additional flights between Astana and London.
The President also said the major subjects of discussion during the talks involved international issues, including the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East.
