President of Kazakhstan said that successful negotiations were held with the South Korean leader and he met with representatives of business circles.
- Interest in Kazakhstan is very big; our delegation has been given serious attention and the relevant documents have been inked, including a joint statement defining the strategic importance of Kazakhstan to Korea in Central Asia, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
The Head of State emphasized the trade and economic component of bilateral cooperation, stating that Korean businesses invested about $ 10 billion in the Kazakh economy, and the work for attracting new investments is under way.
- We have talked about that South Korean companies, LG is among them, which participated in the major project – a gas and chemical complex, said the President of Kazakhstan.
The Head of State noted that active cooperation with South Korea is of particular importance in view of the priority development of processing sectors of Kazakhstan's industry, and economic diversification.
- The visit has been necessary to once again confirm our partnership with that important country, which demonstrates the effectiveness of industrial and technological growth, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
In conclusion, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized that the promotion of mutual relations with other countries is aimed primarily at finding new opportunities for the national economy.
- Towards the end of 2016 my external-economic are nearing completion on good terms; we have found new friends and "compared notes" with our partners. That is useful for further development of Kazakhstan's economy, and thus for the entire population, the Head of State said.
