During the talks, the sides addressed the issues of mutual strategic cooperation in trade, mutual investment, financial instruments, education, information technologies, housing and road construction, as well as the matters of creating transnational corporations within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Nursultan Nazarbayev put emphasis on bilateral agreements within the framework of the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
-We have instructed the co-chairs of the IGC with concrete instructions, and exchanged views on the topical issues of the international and regional agenda, the President of Kazakhstan said.
In addition, the Head of State, making a point of transit and transport cooperation between the two countries, drew attention to the growth of transit traffic through Kazakhstan and Belarus.
Nursultan Nazarbayev positively evaluated the achievements of the Belarusian side in the field of information technology and outlined the prospects for cooperation in this area.
- Our countries have highest regard for developing information technology. We have “Alatau” information technology park, research activities take place in Nazarbayev University, and there is an International Technopark of IT startups based on EXPO-2017, the President of Kazakhstan said.
In his turn, the President of the Republic of Belarus noted the tendency to overcome the recession in the Kazakh-Belarusian economic relations.
- Your visit will serve the process of developing mutual trade. In this context, our Cabinet members and experts will propose options and relevant solutions, Alexander Lukashenko said.
During the talks, the sides stressed the need to intensify the dialogue of the member states of the EEU to develop approaches and solutions on the range of issues under discussion.
Within the framework of the official visit, there is a plan to sign a wide package of bilateral documents.
