During the meeting, the sides highly assessed the state of relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and outlined the prospects for their further development.
The Head of State stressed the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation in the trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres. In particular, they noted an increase in mutual trade turnover, promotion of productive contacts and ties between representatives of business communities of the two countries.
The President of Kazakhstan noted the fruitful nature of bilateral cooperation on topical issues of the international and regional agenda.
Besides, during the working trip to Samarkand Nursultan Nazarbayev together with Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Hazret Hizr Memorial Complex and paid tribute to the memory of the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
Also, on the eve of the holiday of Nauryz, common to the two nations, the Head of State, accompanied by the President of Uzbekistan, saw a number of cultural and historical sights of the city of Samarkand.
