During the meeting, the leaders have discussed ways to strengthen further cooperation within the CIS, exchanged views on improving the effectiveness of the Commonwealth and deepening trade and investment ties between the participating countries.
At the same time, the meeting heard the plan of Tajikistan’s forthcoming activities during the leadership in the CIS, Turkmenistan’s view of the Commonwealth’s further development and the results of the work within the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.
Following the Council’s meeting, the documents were signed in the sphere of combating corruption and legalization of proceeds from crime.
In addition, the leaders of CIS countries considered a number of important decisions in the humanitarian field aimed at strengthening and expanding ties in the field of culture, education, science and tourism, and adopted a statement on supporting the institution of family and traditional family values.
