Visiting cultural facilities as part of the working visit to China

The Head of State visited a number of cultural sites in the city of Hangzhou.

In particular, Nursultan Nazarbayev saw over the Leifeng Pagoda located on the shore of the West Lake and Hangzhou City Museum.

Leifeng Pagoda in Hangzhou was built in 977, and by 1924 it was completely collapsed. Now it has been restored and is open to tourists. Leifeng Pagoda, one of the ten sights in the vicinity of the West Lake, is famous in ancient legends and steeped in romance of remote ages.

Hangzhou City Museum was built upon the project of the famous architectural professor of Zhejiang University Zhang Yufeng. It is among the biggest centers of storage of archeological artifacts and cultural values. 10 Halls with a total area of ​​over 13, 000 square meters occupy the exhibition areas. According to statistics, every year the Museum is visited by over 2 million people.
