During the meeting Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the two countries are bound by historical and cultural ties. Nursultan Nazarbayev also stressed that Qatar demonstrates intensive development, as evidenced by one of the world’s highest GDP per capita.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the potential of bilateral cooperation is not fully realized. In this regard, he said, it is necessary to bring trade and economic ties to a new level.
“I am confident that direct rail access to Bandar Abbas Port in the Persian Gulf will promote the growth of trade turnover between the two countries. Today the Central Asian region has a great potential and economic opportunities. We are ready to develop long-term and mutually beneficial partnership,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
Finally, the Head of the State informed the meeting participants about the institutional reforms and programs of industrial-innovative and infrastructural development implemented in Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Faisal Holding Company Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani; the Co-Chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ezdan Holding Group Khalid Bin Thani Al-Thani; as well as heads of companies Um Haish International, Medicare Group-Ahli Hospital, Al Rayan Bank, Qatar International Islamic Bank, Qatar National Bank , Qatar Solar Energy, Qinvest Bank.
