Irina Bokova highlighted the important achievements of Kazakhstan under the leadership of Nursultan Nazarbayev, particularly in social and economic development.
“We are encouraged by the expansion of cooperation between your country and UNESCO, as well as the development of education, science and culture in Kazakhstan over the last two decades,” the telegram reads.
Director General of UNESCO also noted the importance of Kazakhstan’s initiative to declare the International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures in 2013-2022 by the General Assembly of the United Nations.
Irina Bokova expressed her confidence in the continuation of close cooperation of UNESCO and Kazakhstan and said she will take every effort to accomplish common goals and objectives.
