Within the framework of the official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong. In the course of the conversation, they exchanged views on topical issues on the Kazakh-Vietnamese agenda.
The President noted that the Kazakh people have great respect for the Vietnamese people and the country's achievements. He stressed that one of the goals of his visit was to give an additional impetus to cooperation in all areas, including economy. Our country's leader stated that he is ready to work collaboratively to enhance the multifaceted cooperation between the two nations. He also spoke about the large-scale political and economic reforms currently taking place in Kazakhstan.

In turn, Nguyen Phu Trong, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, noted that Kazakhstan and Vietnam have built strong and harmonious relations based on strong bonds of friendship and common values.
The General Secretary of the Party emphasized that the people of Vietnam and himself have always had cordial relations with Kazakhstan and its people.
