Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala, who is in Astana on an official visit.
The President expressed his confidence that the first official visit of Petr Fiala to our country will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations.
“I commend the fact that you have brought here a big business delegation. And as I understand, there will be a business forum, which of course will be very much useful in terms of pushing forward our business contacts and cooperation,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
President Tokayev conveyed his warm congratulations to Petr Pavlov on his election as President of the Czech Republic.
During the meeting, special attention focused on the prospects of enhancing trade, economic and investment cooperation, including in transport and logistics. The President expressed willingness to provide comprehensive support to Czech investors.
“We welcome investments from the Czech Republic in various sectors of economy, including energy and mechanical engineering, transport, agriculture, finance, the medical industry and pharmaceuticals. We are very much hopeful about the launching a direct air communication between both capitals,” the President stressed.
In turn, Petr Fiala affirmed the Czech Republic's commitment to further developing cooperation with our country.
“The Czech Republic has long and friendly relations with Kazakhstan, and we look forward to continuing them. I hope that our meeting will give new impulse for more active contacts. For us Kazakhstan is a very important partner. I think one of the most important pillars of this EU–Central Asia relations is the relation between our countries – Kazakhstan and Czech Republic,” the Czech Prime Minister said.
During the conversation, President Tokayev and Prime Minister Fiala exchanged views on topical issues on the international agenda.
