On the margins of the One Water Summit, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with President of the World Bank Group Ajay Banga.
The Head of State highlighted the importance of Kazakhstan's strategic partnership with the World Bank.
As he noted, five major projects with a total budget of $3.5 billion are being jointly implemented in the areas of water, transport and education.
The President also welcomed the World Bank's recent approval of a $650 million in financing for Kazakhstan`s Transport Resilience and Connectivity Enhancement project (TRACE).
In this context, the President underlined the strategic role of investments in the Middle Corridor, particularly in the vital highway connecting Jezkazgan and Karaganda.
In turn, Ajay Banga highly valued the level of interaction between the World Bank and Kazakhstan. By confirming the readiness to further increase cooperation, he particularly expressed interest in the implementation of major joint projects in various sectors of the economy.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited the President of the World Bank to visit Kazakhstan in order to intensify dialogue and identify long-term prospects for joint activities.
