During the conversation, the prospects of cooperation in the field of civil aviation were discussed.
According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the availability of direct flights between the countries will boost the development of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as tourism. He noted the high demand for the Almaty-Milan flight, which has carried some 70 thousand passengers since its launch.
In turn, the head of the airline Lupo Rattazzi shared plans to expand the geography of flights in the region. In particular, it is planned to increase the number of flights on the route Almaty – Milan, opening of air communication between Astana and Rome, as well as Astana and Milan.
The President expressed his confidence that cooperation with Neos will have a positive impact on the development of civil aviation, transport and logistics in Kazakhstan.
NEOS was established in 2001 as a joint venture between two travel companies - the Italian Alpitour S.p.A. and the German TUI Group. Being one of the largest private Italian airlines, NEOS operates flights to more than 70 destinations. The company's turnover in 2022 totalled $640 million.
