Welcoming the Senator, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that his visit provides a good opportunity to exchange views on comprehensive bilateral agenda and advance common priorities.
"The United States has always been our strategic partner in promoting global security, non-proliferation, economic resilience and democratic values. I think that we have done a lot. But we need to go further to advance mutual cooperation in so many areas of mutual interest” the President said.
During the conversation, the Head of State expressed gratitude to President Joe Biden for his personal invitation to participate in an inaugural C5+1 Leader’s Summit on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, which will be held in September.
In turn, Gary Peters thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the opportunity to discuss key issues of strengthening the relationship between the United States and Kazakhstan.
"Central Asia is an important part of the world, as Kazakhstan is a key nation in the Central Asian region. Therefore, we want to make sure that we are finding ways to work cooperatively. I presume Biden shares that view and he is excited to see you in New York coming up in the near future. I think it will help us continue to work on strengthening our relationship," the Senator noted.
The parties also discussed topical issues on the international and regional agenda.
