Beijing, China
During his official visit to Beijing, the President of Kazakhstan met with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan and China have built an exemplary interstate cooperation based on the firm bonds of centuries-old friendship and mutual support, which has been continuously strengthened in the spirit of the eternal comprehensive strategic partnership.
"Our countries enjoy an active and trustworthy political dialogue. We carry out cohesive work at Governmental and Parliamentary levels. Last year, we initiated a new "30 golden years" of cooperation between our countries. Today, in our in-depth talks with President Xi Jinping, we reaffirmed our shared interest in building mutually beneficial cooperation. China has become a key, even the most important trading partner of Kazakhstan and one of the largest investors in our economy. We aim to raise the volume of bilateral trade to $40 billion in the near future. In general, Kazakhstan accounts for half of China's trade turnover with all Central Asian states," the President said.

He highlighted the productive negotiations the Kazakh President held with Chinese counterparts during his visit. Furthermore, the Chairman of the Standing Committee expressed confidence in further strengthening of strategic partnership.
